Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Braulio Castillo played 28 games with the Philadelphia Phillies in both 1991 and 1992, hitting .188 with 2 home runs in 128 at bats. He played mostly center field in 1991 and mostly right field in 1992. He was in the majors right before expansion and was, in fact picked by the Colorado Rockies in the expansion draft, but never played for them; he was traded to the Houston Astros early in the 1993 season, but never made it back to the major leagues.

Castillo was born in the Dominican Republic and signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers around the age of 17. He played in the Dodgers organization until he was traded on July 31, 1991. That year, he had been hitting .300 with the San Antonio Missions, where he was a teammate of Pedro Martinez and Raul Mondesi.
