Biographical Information[edit]

Brandon Thomas began his professional baseball career in 2013 after being drafted three times.

He was originally taken by the Colorado Rockies in the 37th round of the 2009 amateur draft, a few picks after outfielder Ryan Lollis, then was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 4th round of the 2012 amateur draft. He finally inked a contract after the New York Yankees took him in the 8th round of the 2013 amateur draft.

After struggling mightily in the Yankees system for three seasons, hitting around the Mendoza Line, Thomas was let go apartway through 2015 and signed with the independent Gary SouthShore RailCats. He was with the Gateway Grizzlies in 2016 and made headlines after hitting a grand slam on August 21, only to have the ball hit his own car's windshield, shattering it.
