Biographical Information[edit]
Brad Corbett owned the Texas Rangers from 1974 to 1980.
Corbett led a group that bought the Rangers from Bob Short for $9.6 million shortly before the 1974 season. His tenure as owner was considered tumultuous, due to an endless rotating door of hiring and firing managers, including having four different managers during the 1977 season, which ironically, was the best in franchise history up to that point. As a result, he was generally disliked by Rangers fans. He sold the team to a group that included Eddie Chiles in early 1980.
He had made his fortune in a company that manufactured plastic pipes. He died in 2012, aged 75.
