Biographical Information[edit]

Brad Kelley has been a player, coach, manager and scout.

He began his career with the 1977 Portland Mavericks, going 3-0 with 3 saves and a 3.33 ERA. He split 1978 between the Great Falls Giants (2-1, 3.86) and Salinas Angels (1-0, 3.60). In 1979, Kelley was on the Bakersfield Outlaws; he went 10-6 with a 4.55 ERA to conclude his minor league playing career.

He was the head coach at the University of Southwestern Louisiana for two years (1983-1984), then moved to the University of Miami as assistant coach (1985-1992) and head coach (1993). In 1991 he managed the Hyannis Mets to the Cape Cod League championship. Kelley was an assistant coach for the U.S. Olympic team in 1987 Pan American Games and 1992 Olympics. He later managed the Princeton Reds in 1995 after serving as the pitching coach for the same club in 1994. He has been the major league advance scout for the Chicago Cubs since 2005 (as of 2011).
