Biographical Information[edit]

Second baseman Brad Emaus was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 11th round of the 2007 amateur draft. He was signed by scout Matt Briggs and made his pro debut that summer.

Emaus was selected by the New York Mets in the 2010 Rule V Draft from the Toronto Blue Jays organization. He came to spring training with only an outside chance at earning a spot on the roster, but when veteran Luis Castillo was released in mid-March, he seized the opportunity to grab the spot. He was the Mets' starter on Opening Day against the Florida Marlins on April 1st, going 0 for 2 with a walk. On April 19th, however, the Mets decided to cut him after getting off to a terrible start, and to recall Justin Turner from the AAA Buffalo Bisons to start at 2B. Emaus was designated for assignment after going 6 for 32 with 1 RBI and 4 walks in his time with the Mets.
