Biographical Information[edit]

Stocker helped Wisconsin-Oshkosh to the 1985 Division III College World Series title, the school's first national championship. He was named a NCAA Division III All-American by the American Baseball Coaches Association. The Oakland Athletics took him in the 25th round of the 1985 amateur draft.

Making his pro debut that summer with the Pocatello Gems, Bob was solid at 2-6, 2.85 with 88 K in 94 2/3 IP, plagued by a team with little support. He was 7th in the Pioneer League in ERA. The right-hander spent the next three summers with the Madison Muskies, improving each year in ERA though his record got worse - 6-2, 5.60 in 1986; 4-7, 4.19 in 1987; 4-8, 3.86 in 1988.

Stocker ended his career as a reliever for the 1989 Huntsville Stars (4-1, 4 Sv, 4.25 in 44 G). Overall, he was 20-24 with 14 saves and a 4.01 ERA in 120 minor league games.
