Biographical Information[edit]
Not only did he pioneer the frozen foods industry, Bob Rich (along with son Bob Rich, Jr.) also helped bring AAA baseball back to Buffalo. Besides being Founder and Chairman of Rich Products Corporation, he was also Chairman of Rich Baseball Operations and the Buffalo Bisons of the International League. The team had formerly been the Wichita Aeros; when Rich bought them, he moved them to Buffalo. Under his leadership, Buffalo led the minors in attendance several times, became the second minor league team to draw one million fans and made a serious push for a major league franchise. He was an innovative and legendary entrepreneur as well as a generous and compassionate community member and industry advocate.
He died on February 15, 2006 at age 92.
