Bob Coulson played four years in the majors, primarily as a right fielder. He was a regular with the 1911 Brooklyn Dodgers, appearing in 146 games and hitting .234/.301/.305, failing to stick the ensuing year. He also played four seasons in the minors. Bob was born in Courtney, PA, very close to Donora, PA, where Stan Musial and the Ken Griffeys were born. One article about Donora [1] claims Bob as a hometown boy. Bob was at Penn State at the same time as Birdie Cree. A 1909 WInkelman's Bread Pin, featuring Bob Coulson's face, is one of only a few pins in existence. It was sold for nearly $1,000 due to its rareness. [2] He was laid to rest in Beallsville Cemetery in Beallsville, PA.
