Biographical Information[edit]

"Uecker and (Merle) Harmon were talking about Joe Pepitone . . . known at the time as the Italian Stallion . . . Uecker says 'That little Coluccio is like a little horse, a little stallion out there.' And Harmon says 'Yeah, he's like a little Macaroni Pony' and it caught on." - Bob Coluccio, quoted here [1]

Bob Coluccio played five seasons in the bigs. He was a regular outfielder for the Milwaukee Brewers in his first two seasons, 1973 and 1974. He belted 15 home runs with a .224/.311/.411 line in the former year, then fell hard to .223/.305/.322 in the latter, becoming a bit player and later seeing time with the Chicago White Sox and St. Louis Cardinals. After his rookie season, owner Bud Selig gave him a winter job driving a beer truck for Selig's beer distributorship.[2] Following his baseball days, he became a real estate agent in Orange County, California.
