Bob Brontsema

Bob Brontsema is a college coach.

While in junior college, Bob helped the College of the Canyons take the California State Junior College title in 1981. As a junior second baseman the next year, Brontsema set the UCSB steal record with 45 swipes. He was an assistant at UCSB from 1984-1993, then became head coach in 1994. He was named Big West Conference Coach of the Year in 1996. He coached Barry Zito and Michael Young. After a 26-26 season in 2011, he was moved to an administrative role at the university; his record as head coach had been 483-478.
