Bo Henning
Bo Henning
Biographical Information[edit]
Coming out of high school, Bo Henning earned a basketball scholarship to Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo and played there for two years. He then transferred to Sacramento City College where he pitched for the Panthers in 2011-2012. He finished his playing career in 2013 with the Vallejo Admirals, in the independent Pacific Association. Henning has ties to the Sacramento, CA area as he is a co-owner and Director of Baseball at an athletic training facility with his father and a brother.
Bo began his coaching career at Christian Brothers High School where his father was the head coach. He led the freshman team in 2014 and the junior varsity team in 2015. It appears that he also worked part-time in 2015 as a coach at his alma matter, Sacramento City College, where one of his brothers was an assistant coach. After those two high school seasons, Bo became a full-time assistant coach (pitching) at City College from 2016-2018. Henning moved to Nova Southeastern University in February 2019 when an opening for a pitching coach arose shortly before the season began and he stayed there until mid-2020. In addition to his college coaching, Henning spent three summers with the Willmar Stingers of the summer collegiate Northwoods League. He was the pitching coach in 2017 and moved up to manager for 2018-2019.
Bo Henning joined the Atlanta Braves organization in June 2020 when they hired him as the Danville Braves pitching coach before the minor league season was cancelled due to COVID-19. In 2021 Henning served as the pitching coach for both of the Rome Braves and the Peoria Javelinas of the Arizona Fall League. He moved up a level as the pitching coach for the Mississippi Braves in 2022-2023.
