Biographical Information[edit]
Blake Lalli was signed as an undrafted free agent by scout Billy Swoope in 2006. He made his pro debut that summer.
Lalli was a manager for the Kane County Cougars in 2018 and Jackson Generals in 2019. In 2020, he was field coordinator for the Arizona Diamondbacks. He was also set to return to Jackson as manager in 2020 before the season was cancelled due to Covid-19. Lalli was manager of the Reno Aces in 2021 and the Diamondbacks' minor league field coordinator in 2022. He returned to Reno in 2023.
In 2024, he donated a kidney to his long-time girlfriend, Aleah Hartung; given the two are not related, it was extremely unlikely that he would be a compatible donor - doctors put it at a one in a hundred thousand - but it turned out that he was in fact a matching donor and the transplant took place successfully that March. The Reno Aces have traditionally held a "Home Run for Life game", sponsored by the Donor Network West to honor a person in the community who has been impacted by organ, eye and tissue donation. In June that year, Blake and Aleah were the ones honored on the special day.
