Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Blaine Mull peaked at AA. He was selected by the Kansas City Royals in the sixth round of the 1994 amateur draft.

Mull had a fine pro debut for the 1994 GCL Royals, going 2-0 with 8 hits and one unearned run in 15 innings. With the '95 Springfield Sultans, he struggled at 4-10, 4.88. He was 6th in the Midwest League in losses and tied for 9th in wild pitches (14). With the Lansing Lugnuts in 1996, he had his finest season, going 15-8 with a 3.25 ERA and 114 strikeouts to 40 walks in 174 2/3 IP over 28 starts. He tied Britt Reames and Victor Hurtado for second in the MWL in wins, one behind Brandon Kolb. He also was 8th in the league inERA, between Brian Sikorski and Hurtado. Among Royals farmhands, he was one win behind win leader Brian Bevil. He split 1997 between the Wilmington Blue Rocks (8-6, 3.56) and Wichita Wranglers (1-2, 6.65). Following the 1997 season, he was dealt to the Florida Marlins for Jeff Conine. He split 1998 between the Brevard County Manatees (4-6, 4.32) and Portland Sea Dogs (0-3, 6.82).

Overall, Mull was 34-35 with a 4.18 ERA in 108 minor league games (105 starts).
