Biographical Information[edit]

A two-way player in college, Blaine Crim was drafted as a first baseman by the Texas Rangers in round 19 of the 2019 amateur draft. He was originally assigned to the AZL Rangers, but only played two games there before being moved up to the A- Spokane Indians. After going hitless in his first game in the Lilac City, he collected 3 hits apiece in his next two games. After hitting .262 through July 13, he hit .367 the rest of the season and ended with a slash line of .335/.398/.528, earning Northwest League MVP honors.

After the minor leagues took a hiatus in 2020, Crim began 2021 with the A+ Hickory Crawdads. He was slashing .300/.372/.559 with 20 round-trippers and 61 RBI in 73 games at the beginning of August when he was advanced to AA ball with the Frisco RoughRiders. He slashed .288/.331/.525 with 9 home runs and 19 RBI in 139 at bats.

After appearing in 25 games in the Puerto Rican Winter League in which he hit .406 and popped 3 home runs and 8 doubles, he was back in Frisco in 2022 and picked up right where he had left off the previous fall, putting together a very similar slash line of .295/.364/.508. He bopped 24 home runs and 26 doubles while driving home 91 runs in 119 games. He was rewarded with a late-season promotion to AAA Round Rock. His batting average didn't suffer too badly for all intents and purposes at .278, but only 1 of his 15 hits went for extra bases, and he struck out 13 times in 54 at bats.

Crim began 2023 back with the Express.
