Biographical Information

Billy Serad pitched four seasons in the majors. A hard-luck pitcher, he never had a winning record although three of his four teams finished over .500.

He spent 1884 and 1885 with the Buffalo Bisons at a time when they featured the Big Four and Davy Force. In 1887 and 1888 he was with the Cincinnati Red Stockings at a time when they featured Bid McPhee.

Billy also played for Utica, Syracuse, Toronto, Newark and Rockford. He umpired one National League game in 1884 and one in the American Association in 1888.

Although he is listed as William I. Serad, a New York Times article from January 15, 1888 referred to him as W.T. Serad.
