Biographical information

Bill Seinsoth pitched in the minor leagues from 1936 to 1944, 1946 to 1947 and from 1949 to 1950. He played in the St. Louis Cardinals, St. Louis Browns and Chicago Cubs farm systems. He is the father of Bill Seinsoth and uncle of Tom Hutton.

He began his professional career with the Sacramento Solons in 1936. That year, he went 3-8 with a 5.84 ERA in 34 games. In 1937, he played for the Solons (six games) and Columbus (GA) Red Birds, going a combined 15-8 in 31 games. He spent 1938 with the Houston Buffaloes (23 games), Rochester Red Wings (two games) and Columbus (OH) Red Birds (four games). Combined he went 10-11 in 29 games. With Columbus (GA) in 1939, he went 17-10 with a 2.41 ERA in 30 games. He also hit .298 with two homers and 17 RBI. He led the South Atlantic League in ERA and tied for third in wins.

Seinsoth split the 1940 season between the Georgian Red Birds (32 games) and Red Wings (four games). He went 16-11 that year, combined. For Columbus, he hit .281 with 4 HR and 30 RBI. He was 8th in the SAL with 16 wins.

In 1941 and 1942, Seinsoth pitched for the New Orleans Pelicans. He went 10-11 with a 4.23 ERA in 43 games in 1941 and again went deep four times, and 24-10 with a 2.79 ERA in 50 games in 1942. He led the Southern Association in wins, 4 ahead of runner-up Vito Tamulis, while placing in the top five in ERA.

From 1943 to 1944, he pitched for the Toledo Mud Hens, going 9-15 with a 3.40 ERA in 31 games in the former year, and 16-11 with a 4.08 ERA in 33 games in the latter season. He tied for 4th in the 1944 American Association in victories.

Back with Sacramento in 1946, Seinsoth went 0-1 in four games that season. He pitched for the San Antonio Missions in 1947, going 5-14 with a 3.18 ERA in 37 games. With the Macon Peaches in 1949, he went 13-9 with a 2.80 ERA in 24 games. He pitched his final season, 1950, with Macon as well, going 18-11 with a 2.44 ERA. He was 4th in the South Atlantic League in ERA and third in wins.

Overall, Seinsoth posted a 156-130 record in his 13-year minor league career.
