Biographical Information[edit]

Bill Robinson III is the son of Bill Robinson. He was picked in the 23rd round of the 1986 amateur draft by the New York Mets. He debuted with the Little Falls Mets, hitting .280/~.330/.354 in 35 games; one of his outfield mates was Jaime Roseboro, also the son of a former major league starter. In 1987, Bill struggled with the Salem Angels, going 6 for 49 with 3 walks, 18 strikeouts and 8 runs in 25 games.

Robinson was a regular for the 1988 Quad Cities Angels, hitting .249/.343/.348 in 117 games. He struck out 121 times in 402 at-bats and was 4th in the Midwest League in times hit by pitch (12). He fielded .982 in the outfield.
