Biographical Information

Bill Plummer pitched in the Pacific Coast League from 1921 to 1927, missing 1922 and 1926 due to injury. He first signed with the Portland Beavers in 1921. In 1923, Plummer signed with the Seattle Indians and won a PCL Championship there in 1924.

When Plummer retired he became a police officer in Oakland, California. He later moved with his wife and son, Bill Plummer, to a farm in Cottonwood, California. The local grade school students knew him as the school bus driver in nearby Anderson, California.

His son Bill was on two World Series-winning teams with the Cincinnati Reds and also managed in the majors. His brother-in-law Red Baldwin played with Plummer from 1924 to 1925 on the Seattle Indians.
