Biographical Information

Bill Nusz was a minor league and semi-pro player who appeared in one game in the Union Association for the Washington Nationals in 1884. He was the brother of Emory Nusz, who was also a baseball player who never reached the major leagues, and for over a century, Emory's biographical details were inserted in Bill's record.

As a result of the confusion, less is known about Bill than about his brother Emory, who outside of baseball, worked at a cigar factory, started his own tobacco business and worked as a traveling tobacco salesman. Emory died as a result of jumping off a moving train in 1893 when he was only 27 years old, but Bill lived another 10 years after that. Adding to the confusion is that Bill's middle name was Emory.
