Biographical Information

Pitcher Bill Lore played for the United States in the 1955 Pan American Games, when they won the Silver Medal (the Dominican national team got the Gold). He played in the Boston Red Sox minor league system in 1957 and 1958. He pitched for the Greensboro Patriots (54 G, 13-3 W-L, 1.31 ERA) and Albany Senators (3 G, 0-2 W-L) in 1957 and in 1958, he played for the Raleigh Capitals (13 G, 1-0 W-L, 4.85 ERA) and Allentown Red Sox (18 G, 1-7 W-L, 2.65 ERA). He led the '57 Carolina League in games pitched, was 8th in wins, hit .300 and would have led in ERA had he qualified; he was 44 IP short; submariner Dave Reed led at 2.04.

After baseball, he worked as a probation officer and as a dentist.
