Willard "Bill" Lasley was in the majors for two games and had years as a semi-pro ballplayer. Although he was only briefly in St. Louis as a major leaguer, he met his first wife there, and was married to her many years till her death.

Bill was born in Ohio but his parents moved to the state of Washington when he was very young. He pitched for the minor league Seattle Indians in 1923 at age 20. His obituary states that he was in the Montana Mines League in 1924 before coming to the majors. George Sisler was his manager with the 1924 St. Louis Browns. Lasley pitched one perfect inning on September 19 in his debut, but then gave up 3 runs in 3 innings on September 23.

A smart man with an entrepreneurial spirit, he was a partner in a furniture company and then owned a knitting company.
