Biographical Information[edit]
Bill Holmberg caught at FSU and was a player in Italy's Serie A2 in 1976. He served as coach of Christopher Colombus High School in 1980. He came to Italy in 1989 and managed Godo for 12 years. He coached for the South African national team in the 2001 Baseball World Cup. He managed the Italian junior national team in 2003-2004. He is the MLB coach in Residence at the Italian baseball academy. He was pitching coach for Italy in the 2007 Baseball World Cup and coached for Italy in the 2009 World Baseball Classic, 2009 European Junior Championship, 2010 European Championship, 2011 Baseball World Cup, 2012 European Championship, 2013 World Baseball Classic, 2014 European Championship, 2015 Premier 12 and 2016 European Championship. He has also scouted for the Chicago Cubs, signing Alberto Mineo.
