Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Bill Hicks played in the Boston Braves system in 1949, hitting .153 with a home run in 37 games. He played for the Fresno Cardinals of the St. Louis Cardinals system in 1953, hitting .194 in 37 games.

He later served as head baseball coach at California State Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo from 1958 to 1969. His brother Joe Hicks also played in the minors and coached college ball.

He served in World War II.
