Biographical Information[edit]
Bill Eagle played four games for the Washington Senators in 1898, hitting .308 for a team which hit .271. He made his debut shortly after his 21st birthday, and played left and right field.
Eagle's middle name, "Lycurgus", is that of a legendary lawgiver of Sparta.
He makes the All Bird team, along with Ducky Medwick, Goose Goslin, Jiggs Parrott, Johnny Peacock, Andy Swan and others. See The Complete Armchair Book of Baseball.
