Biographical Information

Ben Solaita, the brother of Tony Solaita, managed the American Samoa national team in the 1999 Oceania Championship and coached for them when they won Bronze in the 2007 South Pacific Games. His sons Laupati Solaita and Charles Solaita, son or nephew Chris Solaita, nephew Duke Solaita as well as grandson Louis Solaita and Leopeni Solaita (unknown relation) have played for American Samoa. Ben was president of the American Samoa Baseball Federation from 1991-2011 and the president of the National Olympic Committee for American Samoa from 1997-2011.
