Baton Rouge Blue Marlins

The Baton Rouge Blue Marlins were the champions in the lone season in the All-American Association in 2001. They had the top record in the league at 44-28, beat the Fort Worth Cats in the semifinals, then downed the Albany Alligators in the championship 3 games to 2. Managed by Scott Bethea, the team from Baton Rouge, LA drew 16,616 fans, 5th in the 6-team league. Bethea was named the league's manager of the year, but the club surprisingly had just two All-Stars - 2B Jason Williams (.376, the league leader in average, 10 HR) and RP Rick Greene (1-1, 21 Sv, 1.33). Jeremy Robinson (11-3, 3.73) led the league in wins. DH Chris Cassels (.300) was the star in the final game of the championship.

They played their home games at Pete Goldsby Park.
