Biographical Information[edit]

Barry Aden was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 8th round of the 1980 January draft and the 2nd round of the 1981 January draft, two rounds before they chose Oddibe McDowell. He turned down $40,000 to go to EWU but injured his elbow tendon and never played as a pro. He was teaching at his alma mater, Liberty High, and coaching the Seattle Studs, when the 1994 strike hit. He was a strike replacement player for the 1995 Mariners. He then returned to managing the Studs in 1995; by 2021, he had won three Pacific International League titles and over 1,100 games. His son Cody Aden has coached in the minors.
