Biographical Information[edit]
Austin Haynal pitched for the Philippines national team, forming a brother battery with Brad Haynal.
Austin was in junior college in 2008 (3.86 ERA for Palomar) and 2009 (0-2 for College of the Desert). He was 0-1 with a 8.14 ERA his lone season at San Diego State. With the Philippines in the 2017 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers, he replaced former major leaguer Clay Rapada with a 4-1 deficit in the bottom of the 5th against Australia, one on and one out. He walked Allan de San Miguel, fanned Logan Wade and walked Mitch Nilsson as his brother had a passed ball, then got James Beresford on a grounder with the bases loaded. In the 6th, he was replaced by Vladimir Eguia.
