Biographical Information[edit]
August A. Busch III was the eldest son of August Jr. Prior to owning the St. Louis Cardinals, August served as President (1974-2002), Chief Executive Officer (1975-2002), and Chairman of the Board (1977-2006) of Anheuser-Busch. When August, Jr. died in 1989, August III took over as team owner and served as such until 1996 when he sold the team to William DeWitt, Jr.
