Arturo Calle pitched for the Ecuadorian national team when they won Bronze Medals in the 2004 South American Championship and 2005 South American Championship. In the 2006 COPABE qualifiers for the 2008 Olympics, he allowed 7 hits, four walks and 11 runs (5 earned) in four innings, fanning one, but his 11.25 ERA was better than the team 13.25 ERA. He helped Ecuador to a Silver Medal in the 2011 South American Championship.
