Biographical Information[edit]

Artur Donetsky pitched for the Russian national team.

He allowed 5 hits, 10 walks and 9 runs (8 earned) in 3 2/3 IP in the 2001 Baseball World Cup, though he did strike out five. He was third on the team in K, behind Oleg Korneev and Nikolai Petrov, but had their highest ERA. [1] In the 2003 European Championship, he led Russia in ERA, allowing two runs (one earned) on three walks and one hit while striking out three. He went 1-0. [2] He was rocked for 11 hits, 6 walks and 11 runs (10 earned) in 3 innings in the 2003 Baseball World Cup for the team's highest ERA in a reversal. He lost to Jordy Alexander and Team Canada. [3] The southpaw went six innings in the 2005 European Championship, giving up 5 hits, 3 walks and 4 runs (3 earned) while striking out nine. He was third on the team in strikeouts again, this time behind Korneev and Rinat Makhmutov. [4]
