Biographical Information

Artur Donetsky pitched for the Russian national team.

He allowed 5 hits, 10 walks and 9 runs (8 earned) in 3 2/3 IP in the 2001 Baseball World Cup, though he did strike out five. He was third on the team in K, behind Oleg Korneev and Nikolai Petrov, but had their highest ERA. In the 2003 European Championship, he led Russia in ERA, allowing two runs (one earned) on three walks and one hit while striking out three. He went 1-0. He was rocked for 11 hits, 6 walks and 11 runs (10 earned) in 3 innings in the 2003 Baseball World Cup for the team's highest ERA in a reversal. He lost to Jordy Alexander and Team Canada. The southpaw went six innings in the 2005 European Championship, giving up 5 hits, 3 walks and 4 runs (3 earned) while striking out nine. He was third on the team in strikeouts again, this time behind Korneev and Rinat Makhmutov.
