Arthur Dennis DeFilippis

Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Art DeFilippis was drafted by the Washington Senators in the 2nd round of the 1970 amateur draft. He led the 1970 New York-Penn League with a .818 winning percentage, going 9-2, 1.61. His other very good season was with the Pittsfield Rangers of the AA Eastern League in 1973, when he went 11-6, 4.50.

DeFilippis was traded by the Texas Rangers to the Cincinnati Reds on November 8, 1976 for Mike Thompson. The Reds then sent him to the Minnesota Twins on March 28, 1977 for Jack Maloof.

DeFilippis spent parts of four seasons at AAA but never pitched in the majors, although he appeared on a 1976 Topps "Rookie Stars" baseball card as a member of the Rangers.
