Antonio Marcucci was the catcher and captain for Nettuno when the team won four titles in the first decade of the Italian Baseball League. He also was on national championship teams in softball. He was noted for his excellence in shutting down the running game. Marcucci was 0 for 4 in the 1954 European Championship, splitting the catching with Angelo Rizzo in the first event for the Italian national team. His last season was 1960. Statistics are unavailable for most of Marcucci's career as Italian season stats prior to 1960 are not available online. Marcucci was part of the first Italian Baseball Hall of Fame class in 2005, joining Giorgio Castelli as the first catchers inducted.
