Biographical Information[edit]

A native of Bowling Green, OH, Andy Tracy played both baseball and football at Bowling Green (OH) High School and Bowling Green State University. Tracy was an excellent football player, and was named all-state as a high school punter in 1991. He went on to star as a third baseman and punter with the BGSU Falcons before turning pro as a baseball player.

Tracy is one of at least three NCAA Division I-A/FBS football punters to play Major League Baseball. Chris Jelic and Darin Erstad are among the others.

Tracy managed the Williamsport Crosscutters in 2012 and was the Philadelphia Phillies' minor league hitting coordinator from 2013-2018. He moved to the Cleveland Indians' chain as hitting coach of the Columbus Clippers in 2019. He was scheduled to move into the mamager's role for Columbus in 2020 before the season was cancelled due to Covid-19. Tracy then managed Columbus in 2021.
