Infielder Andrew Lane was selected by the Washington Nationals in the 27th round of the 2005 amateur draft and made his pro debut that year with the Vermont Expos. After one season in their organization, he spent 2006 in the Chicago Cubs chain with the Daytona Cubs. He then played a season in the independent leagues. Since 2011, he has been bullpen catcher for the Cubs.
