Team History[edit]

The Anaheim Valencias of the Sunset League lasted for two seasons playing their home games at La Palma Park. In their first year of play, they won the Sunset League championship, defeating the Riverside Dons 4 games to 1. Bill Wilson was the anchor in the lineup leading the team with 23 home runs and 116 runs. Glenn Lierman had 19 wins on the mound.

In 1948, the team got off to a bad start with a 13-42 record before the Valencias moved to San Bernardino, CA becoming the San Bernardino Valencias, finishing the year with a 30-55 record.

Major Leaguers included Lee Stine and Wilson in 1947. Jack Maguire also played 15 games for the Valencias in 1948.
