Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher Allen Halley was selected by the Chicago White Sox in the 30th round of the 1995 amateur draft and played parts of two seasons in their organization. He was later traded to the Toronto Blue Jays and played briefly in their farm system. In 1997, he played for the Duluth-Superior Dukes in the Northern League and was 4-4 with a 5.18 ERA in 19 games during the regular season. He was the winning pitcher in the first and last games of the league's championship series and was named series MVP as the Dukes beat the Winnipeg Goldeyes. Tragically, Halley died as the result of a seizure the following spring.
