Biographical Information[edit]

Ali Knowles has pitched for the Great Britain national team.

Knowles hit .500 as a high school junior and .618 as a senior. He was named All-State both years. He redshirted as a college freshman in 2010. In 2011, he hit .274/.383/.359. As a redshirt sophomore, he fell to .173/.232/.212 then rebounded to .230/.365/.336 as a junior. His senior year, he batted .235/.333/.271. He only pitched one game in college, as a sophomore (1 R in 1 IP, 2 H, 2 BB, 3 K). He was with the independent Garden City Wind in 2015, going 0-1 but with 15 walks, 5 hits and 9 runs in 6 1/3 IP (6 K).

The Bahamanian native was on the Great Britain squad in the 2017 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers alongside others from the Bahamas. He got into one game. In the finale, versus Israel, he relieved Spencer Kreisberg in the bottom of the 5th with one on, no outs and a scoreless game. He promptly served up a homer to Blake Gailen then walked Zach Borenstein. Rei Martinez relieved and Borenstein wound up scoring, as Knowles had an infinite ERA for the event.
