Biographical Information[edit]

Alexis Infante played four seasons in the major leagues, mostly with the Toronto Blue Jays. Not much of a hitter, he earned his keep with defensive skills at shortstop, third base and second base.

Born in Venezuela, he began playing in the minors in 1982 at age 20. His entire minor league career was in the organization of the Blue Jays except for 31 games in the Atlanta Braves organization in 1990. The bulk of his time in the minors was spent at the AAA level, including parts of six seasons with the Syracuse Chiefs. In 1988 he hit .300 with the Chiefs. After the minors he played four seasons in Mexico for the Olmecas de Tabasco, also considered to be AAA level.

Infante managed the Cabudare club in the Venezuelan Summer League in 2001. Moving to the Dominican Republic, he then coached for the DSL Rangers from 2003-2010 and 2013. He managed the DSL Rangers 2 in 2014 and coached them in 2015. He then coached the DSL Rangers 1 in 2016 and DSL Rangers 2 in 2017-2018. Infante then managed the DSL Rangers 1 in 2019, DSL Rangers 2 in 2021, and DSL Rangers Red in 2022. He was bench coach of the DSL Rangers Red in 2024.
