Alexander Schön was on the German national team.
In the 1983 European Junior Championship, he allowed 20 runs (9 earned) in 5 innings, going 0-1; he was 0-for-5 at the plate. He made it to the senior team by the 1986 B-Level European Championship, walking three and allowing one run in 2/3 IP. He was 0-1 with a 12.00 ERA in the 1987 European Championship. He was a workhorse in the 1989 European Championship, starting three of their eight games to tie Klaus Knüttel for the team lead; he was 1-2 (getting their lone win, over France) with a 11.57 ERA; he walked 22 and allowed 32 hits in 16 1/3 IP, striking out six. His ERA was 3rd on the 7-man staff, behind Frank Jäger and Knüttel. His last event for the national team was the 1990 B-Level European Championship, when he had a 7.88 ERA. Bundesliga stats are unavailable for almost his entire career; it is known that he was 1-0 with a 9.00 ERA in two games for the 1994 Mannheim Tornados.
