Biographical Information[edit]
Alexander Resel has played for the Austrian national team.
He debuted in the Austrian Baseball League in 2020, going 2 for 9 with a walk and a double for the Vienna Wanderers. In '21, he improved to .237/.324/.441. [1] In the 2021 U-18 European Championship, he was 2 for 15 with two runs as a regular outfielder for Austria. [2]
In 2022, he hit .253/.383/.320 for Vienna but slumped to .157/.265/.205 in '23. [3] He was 2 for 13 with a double and two runs in the 2023 Confederation Cup. [4] In that year's U23 European Championship, he was 2 for 9 with two runs and two RBI and pitched 2 1/3 shutout innings against Italy. [5] A late addition to Austria's team for the 2023 European Championship, he played two games at third base. He singled off Greece's Daniel Gosselin his first at-bat and finished at .333/.556/.500 with two runs, fielding .833. [6]
