Alexander Fedorov played for many years with the Russian national team.
In the 1995 European Championship, he was 1 for 6 with a walk. He batted .529 to lead Russia in the 1997 European Championship, 9th overall in the event; his 8 runs tied for 11th in the Euros that year. In the 1998 Baseball World Cup, the 27-year-old hit .292/.292/.292 as Russia's starting first baseman. He was their only player to hit over .230 while getting more than five at-bats.
Fedorov hit .208/.208/.250 in the 1999 European Championship. During the 2001 European Championship, Alexander batted .233/.258/.267 but had 6 RBI in 8 games for the Silver Medal winners. He had one of their two hits in their Gold Medal loss to Rob Cordemans and the Dutch national team.
The Illichivs'k native hit .174/.208/.174 as the Russian 1B in the 2001 Baseball World Cup but led the light-hitting squad with 4 RBI. He batted .200/.200/.200 in the 2007 European Championship as the backup to Maxim Yudaev at first. He hit .188/.278/.188 in the 2008 European Cup in Grosseto.
