Biographical Information

Alexander Cremidan spent three seasons in the minor leagues.

While in college, Cremidan was chosen for the Greek national team in the 2002 European Championship B Pool. He got the first start in the history of the Gree knational team, tossing a no-hitter and fanning 11 against Slovakia for the win.

He was chosen by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 35th round of the 2003 amateur draft. He turned in a stellar pro debut with the Missoula Osprey that year, going 2-1 with 15 saves and a 1.40 ERA. He held opponents to a .177 average and struck out over a batter per inning. He paced the Pioneer League in saves but was left off the All-Star team in favor of Dana Eveland.

In 2004, Alex was effective with the South Bend Silver Hawks, with a 1-2 record, 7 saves and a 3.27 ERA. He again averaged over a strikeout per inning but now allowed a .288 average, a big dropoff. He took time to pitch for Greece in the 2004 Olympics. He allowed six runs in six innings in the Summer Games, surrendering three gopher balls.

Cremidan ended his career in 2005 with the Lancaster JetHawks. In 44 games, he was 1-5 with a 4.58 ERA, but held opponents to a .247 average in a high-scoring environment (every team in the league hit .274 or higher). Despite a third straight creditable season, that was Alex's last campaign in the minors.
