Biographical Information

Alex Lomis backed up Dimitri Kourtis at first base for the Greek national team in the 2016 European Championship. One of his teammates was Jim Lomis; it is unclear if they are related. Alex got into three games. He replaced Kourtis in a 21-2 loss to Italy, striking out against Junior Oberto and grounding out against Gianfranco Rizzo. He played all of a 18-1 loss to Belgium, drawing a walk from Yannick Gontier, singling off Kyran Weemaels and grounding out against Gregg Mareels. In a 19-2 loss to Great Britain, he entered late and struck out facing Matthew Maitland.
