Biographical Information[edit]

Alex Kvasnak was an outfielder eight years 1941 to 1952, one in the Major Leagues and eight in the minors, losing two years to the military. He was inactive in 1950 and 1951. He served in the U.S. Armed Forces in World War II from 1943 to 1945 (N&C). He had a cup of coffee for the Washington Senators in 1942. He died at age 81.

Kvasnak may have lost his best years to the war. He hit .300 before he left and .300 when he came back (as well as a couple other times).

He was the batting champion of the Intercounty Baseball League in 1950, playing for the Waterloo Tigers.

He is (through 2024) the only major leaguer with "Kv" as the first two letters of his last name. There have, however, been several minor leaguers with that combination beginning the last name.
