Biographical Information[edit]

Alessandro Spera has played and umpired in Serie A1.

He pitched two shutout innings for Nettuno in 1988 and was 2-3 with a 8.68 ERA for Anzio five years later (going 2-for-3 at the plate). [1] He later was an umpire in Italy's top league and worked the 2016 European Championship, 2017 U-18 Baseball World Cup, 2018 European Champions Cup, 2019 CEB Cup, 2021 European Championship, 2022 Confederation Cup, 2023 European Championship and 2024 Premier 12. [2] He has won Umpire of the Year in both Italy [3] and WBSC Europe. [4]
