Biographical Information[edit]

1B/OF Alan Regier played for the Redwood Pioneers in 1980, hitting .172/.297/.216 with 20 walks in 37 games. He then spent 1982-1992 as an assistant coach at University of California, Berkeley.

Regier was a Northern California area scout for the Texas Rangers (1992-1995) and an area scout supervisor for the Atlanta Braves (1996-1998). Regier was the minor-league field coordinator for the Chicago Cubs(1998-1999), a special assignment scout for the Milwaukee Brewers (2000-2002) and a scout for the Boston Red Sox (2003-2005).

Regier joined the Chicago White Sox in 2006 as minor league field coordinator. He was then the Sox director of player development (2007-2008) and special assignment scout (2009-present). The Sox drafted his son, Zach Regier, in 2011.
