Biographical information[edit]

Outfielder Al Herring is a former minor league baseball player who is perhaps best remembered for being traded by the St. Louis Cardinals to the Chicago Cubs for Bobby Locke on April 7, 1962.

He spent six years in the minor leagues, playing from 1958 to 1963. He briefly reached Triple-A in 1959. Overall, he hit .268 with 610 hits in 657 games.
