Biographical Information[edit]

Infielder Aidan Miller was selected with the 27th overall pick of the 2023 amateur draft out of a high school in Florida. He had a commitment to go to the University of Arkansas, but gave it up in order to sign with the Phillies. It was decided that he would be playing shortstop as a pro, but it was his bat that was his big tool so that he might not stick at the position if the defensive responsibilities proved too much to handle. He had been considered a possible top-15 pick until breaking a hamate bone in his hand, causing him to miss most of his senior season of high school.

He began his pro career in 2023 by playing 10 games each for the FCL Phillies and the Clearwater Threshers of the Florida State League, combining to hit .303, never having to move more than 30 miles from his hometown. In 2024, he was assigned to Clearwater to start the season and batted .275 in 39 games before earning a promotion to the Jersey Shore BlueClaws of the South Atlantic League, reaching High-A very rapidly. That July, he was picked to play for the National League in the 2024 Futures Game.

He comes from a baseball family as his father Jason Miller played briefly in the minors, as did his brother Jackson Miller. His father owns a performance center in Oldsmar, FL where a number of major leaguers have trained.
