2022 Central League Rookie of the Year Award

The 2022 Central League Rookie of the Year Award went to Yomiuri Giants closer Taisei Ota (who often just went by Taisei), who was 1-3 with 37 saves and a 2.05 ERA. He had 209 of 299 votes. Finishing second with 74 was the Hanshin Tigers' Atsuki Yuasa. Also receiving votes were Gold Glove shortstop Hideki Nagaoka of the Yakult Swallows (7), the Chunichi Dragons' Hiroto Takahashi (6), Yakult's Naofumi Kizawa (1), Junya Nishi of Hanshin (1) and Ryuta Heinai pf Yomiuri (1).
